Rostock (dpa / mv) – The Rostock Seawolves have expanded their track record in the basketball Bundesliga. The promoted team won on Tuesday with 110:95 (90:90/86:86/36:42) after the second overtime against the bottom of the table Löwen Braunschweig and thus achieved their third win in the third game. The best Rostock pitcher was Derrick Alston (31).
The Seawolves didn’t find their game at all at first. After less than two minutes, the hosts were already 0:9 behind. Benedikt Turudic from Braunschweig scored the first seven points of the game. For a short time, the gap in the first quarter was even ten points. Up until the break it was a changeable encounter, in which Rostock were able to fight each other several times, but Braunschweig always had an answer ready.
The lions also dominated the second round. But as the game went on, the Rostockers got better access to the opponent and finally took the lead for the first time in the game thanks to two converted free throws by Nijal Pearson to 53:51, but had to give it up in the final second. After the first overtime had ended in a draw, the Seawolves were able to improve in the second overtime and thus achieved a clear success.
