Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The volleyball players of SSC Palmberg Schwerin have achieved the hoped-for cup coup at the favored Allianz MTV Stuttgart. In the semifinals on Saturday, coach Felix Koslowski’s team beat the defending champions 3-2 (18:25, 25:21, 18:25, 27:25, 15:8) and will now meet on February 26, 2023 in Mannheim in the final against SC Potsdam.

In the first round, Schwerin was able to keep up to 15:16, but then had to let the hosts go to 20:15 and was no longer able to prevent the 0:1 set deficit. After that, however, the picture changed. In the second period, the SSC gained a 20:14 lead and finally used its second of four set balls to equalize.

In the third round, the game took another turn. After the 12:12 in the meantime, the Mecklenburg women had problems and finally had to give up this set with 18:25. Stuttgart also dominated the events in the fourth section and looked like the sure winner after the 12:5 score. But the SSC fought their way up point by point, equalized again and then also won the tie-break.
