Güstrow (dpa/mv) – 223 new police officers for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were sworn in on Friday in Güstrow. Around 1000 guests attended the ceremony in the sports and congress hall. With the taking of the oath, the future law enforcement officers can now wear their uniforms. The ceremonial speech was given by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Minister of the Interior, Christian level (SPD).

134 (30 of them women) started their two-year apprenticeship in the middle service this year, the other 89 (33 of them women) started their three-year bachelor’s degree for the higher service at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, Police and Judicial Administration of the State of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Guestrow.

The trainees also include the competitive athletes Valerie Lucie Jachmann (swimming fins) as well as Eric Frank (javelin throw) and Arne Theuerkauf (air pistol), who together form the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania police sports promotion group 2022. The police had received a total of 1,259 applications for the new training year.
