Wismar/Waren/Neubrandenburg/Parchim (dpa/mv) – Despite the resolutions for initial financial relief for gas customers, more than 3,000 people demonstrated again in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania against energy policy and the consequences of inflation. As police spokesman said, several hundred people came together on Monday evening in Wismar, Teterow, Waren, Rostock, Ludwigslust, Parchim, Neubrandenburg and Neustrelitz.

Overall, around half of the participants were registered as they were counted a month ago. In Schwerin, otherwise traditionally most of the demonstrators, the Monday protests were recently canceled entirely. An exact overview of the number of participants from all locations was not yet available, as some actions were still running, it said.

In Waren, several speakers called for an energy policy that results in affordable energy prices for people and companies.
