Greifswald (dpa/mv) – As an energy saving measure, the Vorpommern-Greifswald district also closes several administration buildings between Christmas and New Year. A spokesman for the district said on Wednesday that the heating could be turned down in the unoccupied buildings. At the location of the district office in Greifswald, for example, two out of three houses would close. A location is also to be closed in Anklam. According to the district, the partial closure applies between the public holidays of December 27th to 30th.
According to the spokesman, administrative employees who are not free should switch to the open buildings or to the home office if necessary. According to the district, all emergency and on-call services such as the youth welfare office or the road maintenance department are not affected. The registration and driving license office in Anklam or the regulatory office there should also remain open, for example.
Due to the tense energy situation, the offices of public administrations are already only heated to 19 degrees. The district of Ludwigslust-Parchim had already announced that it would close its main locations in Parchim and Ludwigslust between Christmas and the New Year. In the state capital of Schwerin, according to earlier information, the house of local self-government with almost 120 employees should close – the city and community day and the MV district day are located there, among other things.
