Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The building association in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has called for more investment, especially in the areas of housing construction and infrastructure. “Especially for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a large area and tourist state, it is important to further develop and maintain the infrastructure. Even in times of crisis, we cannot afford a slump in investment activities,” said the association’s general manager, Jörg Schnell, on Wednesday in Schwerin.

The Federal Statistical Office reported on Tuesday that the number of incoming orders in the industry in Germany between January and August 2022 fell by 2.2 percent in real terms compared to the previous year. This affects all sectors. Sales suffered a real damper of 4.5 percent.

The chambers of crafts had already sounded the alarm because they feared the consequences for the downstream trades – i.e. the crafts.
