Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) – The district court of Neubrandenburg wants to complete a trial about a bloody neighborhood dispute on Tuesday (10:00 a.m.). The chamber plans to first hear two experts and then receive the pleadings from the prosecution and the defense. A judgment could also be made in the afternoon, it was said in advance.
The 70-year-old man is accused of attempted manslaughter. He is said to have attacked and seriously injured a 36-year-old neighbor with a garden machete on May 10 in Bartow (Mecklenburg Lake District). The defendant also admitted the attack, but claims to have defended himself against an attack. However, the victim denied this.
Several witnesses from the village had described the accused, who had moved from Schleswig-Holstein more than ten years ago, as a particularly argumentative man. The victim managed to take the gun from the attacker and escape to his property. The drunk suspect was caught at the scene.
