Schwerin (dpa / mv) – Bundesliga leader SSC Palmberg Schwerin has lived up to its role as favorite in the round of 16 for the DVV Cup. Coach Felix Koslowski’s team won 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-10) at the second division club SSC Freisen on Sunday and thus reached the round of the eight best teams.
The Mecklenburg women had gained a small cushion early on in the first round, significantly increased their lead over the course of the game and converted their first of eleven set balls. In the second half of the game, the hostesses acted at eye level with the SSC during the first rallies, who were able to pull away from 6:5 to 14:6 and a little later secured the 2:0 set lead. The Koslowski team didn’t show any weaknesses in the third round either and made everything clear with the second of 15 match balls.
