Prerow (dpa/mv) – This year’s Darß nature film festival will open on Tuesday (7 p.m.) in the Seemannskirche in Prerow. The focus of the more than 50 film screenings and events until Sunday is the forest habitat. In the competition, twelve productions compete in five categories for the German Nature Film Award.
The prizes are endowed with a total of 26,000 euros. The main prizes are the “Best Film Wilderness Nature” and “Best Film Man and Nature”, each endowed with 10,000 euros. Patron of the German Nature Film Award is Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke (Greens). The awards are scheduled to be presented on Saturday evening.
The documentary “Magic Moments of Nature” will be shown on the opening night. With the help of modern camera technology, the author Christian Baumeister shows nature beyond human perception, including in extreme slow-motion shots.
