Altwarp (dpa/mv) – In the case of two dead dogs, the police are investigating the possible laying out of poisoned baits. A Torgelow vet had previously reported to the police, they said on Thursday. She examined two dogs that were believed to have been poisoned by bait. According to the police, the owners went for a walk with the dogs on Thursday morning near the Altwarp settlement, not far from the lagoon. Both animals had eaten something there, and a red foreign body could still be removed from the mouth of a dog.

According to the current status, the examinations in the veterinary practice indicated that the bait could have been poisoned. The police are investigating, among other things, for violating the Animal Welfare Act.
