Eggesin (dpa / mv) – Western Pomerania-Greifswald has awarded 64 citizens for their voluntary commitment with the district’s honorary office award 2022. “You are role models with your voluntary work, because without your passionate commitment, our society would be different,” District Administrator Michael Sack (CDU) was quoted as saying in a statement on Wednesday. He appealed to those involved to remain active even in turbulent times. The excellent commitment ranges from sports, Ukraine aid, fire brigade to integration, youth work and environmental protection.
According to the information, the award ceremony on Tuesday in Eggesin was the tenth in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. Among the honorees was Uwe Schultz from Anklam, who promotes and spreads beekeeping, or the Grypsnasen association, whose clowns support the care and therapy of sick children in the University Hospital of Greifswald.
