Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The chambers of industry and commerce (IHK) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are calling for tangible solutions to the energy crisis before the upcoming federal-state conference on Wednesday. “If the bills from the gas suppliers are delivered faster than the politicians implement decisions to relieve the economy, then a wave of insolvencies will sweep across the country,” said Matthias Belke, executive president of the IHKs in the northeast, on Monday. The impression is growing that politicians are misjudging the situation.

According to the industry representative, planning security, affordable energy and reliable political action are needed immediately. “The companies see themselves under acute threat and have to face the brutal economic reality every day,” it said.
