Waren/Müritz (dpa/mv) – According to the water police, the fire on a sports boat on the Kleine Müritz with three seriously injured people was caused by a gas explosion. What was the cause of this is still unclear, said a spokesman for the state water protection police office in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Monday afternoon.
A 59-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident on Sunday afternoon. A 60-year-old suffered severe but non-life-threatening burns. All three were flown to special clinics in Berlin and Lübeck. There was no new information on the condition of the victims as of Monday afternoon.
On Sunday, the local water police said the victims came from the state of Brandenburg. On Monday afternoon, the spokesman for the state water protection police office said they came from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
