Neubrandenburg/Berlin (dpa/mv) – The police headquarters in Neubrandenburg warns of a new internet scam involving medicinal cannabis. This is the so-called crowd investing platform “juicyfields.io”, as a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday. The background is the forthcoming legalization of these substances for medical purposes.
The alleged businessmen therefore pretend that investors can participate in cultivation, harvest and sale and get 100 percent profit for it. Anyone who contributes money, like a 41-year-old from Waren an der Müritz, will not see it again. The man paid more than 10,000 euros and only later reported it.
The Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating twelve suspected persons responsible for this Internet platform. There have also been searches. The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) had already prohibited public offerings of investments in the form of investments in cannabis plants.
