Schwerin (dpa/mv) – For the third time this season, the volleyball players from SSC Palmberg Schwerin meet VC Wiesbaden and want to continue their track record against their league rivals. Despite the victories in the first half of the Bundesliga season and in the quarter-finals of the cup, as well as the big gap in the table, coach Felix Koslowski warned before the duel on Saturday (7 p.m.): “I’m sure they will demand everything from us.”

The Schwerin coach referred to the return of Rene Sain, who was injured at the beginning of the season. Since the Libera are back on the field, Würzburg have lost just one of their last seven games and have worked their way up to seventh place in the table. “They have a lot of quality in their ranks. They play good volleyball, have a strong acceptance, a very good serve, play well in block and defense,” Koslowski praised the hosts.

The women from Schwerin are trying to ignore the fact that the cup final against SC Potsdam is on Sunday in a week’s time before the game in Wiesbaden. “First of all, it’s about important points in the Bundesliga for us. We want to fight to maybe move up a place or two,” emphasized Koslowski. The Mecklenburg women are still in third place in the table.
