Schwerin (dpa/mv) – Bundesliga leader SSC Palmberg Schwerin does not want to leave any doubt about his role as favorite with second division team SSC Freisen in the round of 16 for the German Volleyball Cup. Although the team of coach Felix Koslowski after the league game last Wednesday at Rote Raben Vilsbiburg in Bavaria now has to travel a long way for the cup duel on Sunday (3.30 p.m. / Sport1) in Saarland, the coach made it clear on Friday : “This is the most important game for us this season so far, because it’s a knockout round. And we really want to win this game.”
Koslowski can fall back on the entire squad for this endeavor. Whether Freisen will cause problems for the SSC in front of around 700 spectators in the Bruchwaldhalle or even cause a surprise seems questionable. The hosts are spared a long journey, but they still have to play a league game against SV Karlsruhe-Beiertheim on Saturday.
