Schwerin (dpa/mv) – After a gas leak near Eckhofplatz in Schwerin, the fire brigade has now given the all-clear. There was a leak in a gas line – for no apparent reason – which was noticed by the formation of bubbles on the sidewalk and a corresponding smell, said the control center of the Schwerin fire brigade on Friday. In consultation with the gas supplier, however, the corresponding warning has since been lifted.
According to information from Stadtwerke Schwerin, no more gas is leaking. The necessary repair work should be completed by the evening.
In the meantime, according to their own statements, the fire brigade had closed an area in the old town between the Old Garden, Marstall and Puschkinstraße for pedestrians and vehicles.
