Rostock (dpa/mv) – At a cruise terminal in Rostock-Warnemünde, a car with two people drove into the Warnow River on Tuesday. The vehicle sank within minutes. The two people were rescued lifeless from the water by divers from the Rostock professional fire brigade, the police said.
In addition to the water police, a sea rescue cruiser was also deployed to secure the scene of the accident. According to the police, ship traffic had to be stopped in the meantime. The salvage of the car is currently being prepared, it said. Further details about the accident have not yet been communicated.
