Schwerin (dpa / mv) – From the point of view of the FDP, not sending a representative of the state government to the hydrogen industry day taking place in Wismar is strategically unwise. “In any case, staying away does not help to play at the forefront of hydrogen as a future technology,” said the energy policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, David Wulff, on Wednesday in Schwerin. This requires a direct exchange with the industry.
According to the event website, companies from Scandinavia will also take part in the meeting in Wismar on Wednesday and Thursday, in addition to representatives from Germany and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Wulff demanded more speed from the country, including when it comes to wind power for which hydrogen is to be used as a storage medium. Among other things, the FDP politician campaigned for a repowering initiative to make existing wind turbines more efficient.
