The discussion about the consequences of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and the right reaction to it are topics in the state parliament on Wednesday. The head of government wants to present the current energy supply situation to Parliament.

Schwerin (dpa/mv) – Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) is ringing in the session of the state parliament today with a government statement on the energy crisis. Afterwards, the red-red coalition partners in the state parliament want to talk about the concrete implementation and any additions to the federal government’s third relief package. The state government had repeatedly called for an energy price cap in the past few weeks.

According to police estimates, more than 100,000 people demonstrated across East Germany at the beginning of the week on German Unity Day because of the energy crisis. According to the Interior Ministry, there were around 9,800 in the northeast.

Even before the start of the state parliament session, the industrial union IG Metall wants to advertise in front of the state parliament at 9 a.m. for an extension of the transfer company of the insolvent MV shipyard group. The impatience of the approximately 900 former employees is great, at the end of October the transfer company will expire according to the current status.
