Zingst (dpa / mv) – Unknowns have stolen almost half a ton of electric cables from a company in Zingst (West Pomerania-Rügen). As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the theft probably happened on a construction site in the Baltic Sea resort over the weekend and was reported on Monday. According to initial investigations, almost 400 meters of the non-ferrous metal cable, which was stored in an underground car park, was stolen. Construction workers noticed the theft when they got back to work. The property damage was estimated at several thousand euros. The police are hoping for clues as to the whereabouts of the loot, including from scrap dealers in the region.
