A man is said to have killed his parents and sister. That crime shocked the people of Rövershagen near Rostock. The process is expected to begin in a few weeks.

Rostock (dpa/mv) – In the case of the alleged triple murder by Rövershagen, the Rostock public prosecutor’s office has brought charges against a 26-year-old. According to a statement on Tuesday, she accuses the man of having murdered his 52-year-old father and shortly thereafter his 25-year-old sister insidiously and for base motives on February 7 of this year. Four days later he also killed his 48-year-old mother. At the time of the first two acts, this was outside of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The reasons for the crime were family problems.

The scene of the crime was the parental home in Rövershagen east of Rostock. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the alleged perpetrator then buried the bodies on a remote piece of land near Kösterbeck about twelve kilometers south of Rövershagen as the crow flies.

The man was arrested on March 30th. A day later, the Rostock District Court issued an arrest warrant and he has been in custody ever since. Neither the public prosecutor’s office nor the regional court gave further details about the crime. According to earlier police reports, the man confessed to the crimes.

The act had caused horror in Rövershagen. The family lived in a single-family house in the middle of a settlement. According to the district court, there is still no date for the start of the jury trial. According to the Code of Criminal Procedure, a trial must begin no later than six months after the start of pre-trial detention, in this case before the end of September.
