Waren (dpa/mv) – The 44-year-old driver was seriously injured in a truck accident on Autobahn 19 near Waren. She was taken to a hospital on Monday afternoon, police said.
According to the investigators’ initial findings, the truck loaded with potting soil was traveling on the A19 in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district when it left the roadway between the Waren and Röbel junctions for an initially unknown reason. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle returned to the roadway, turned and drove head-on into the ditch. It overturned and lay across all lanes of the road.
The investigators estimated the damage to the tractor and trailer at a total of around 200,000 euros. The lane was completely blocked in the direction of Berlin. According to the police, the closure should continue into the night.
