Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The company Vink Chemicals from Kakenstorf (Lower Saxony) is planning a plant in Schwerin. According to a company spokesman, construction should start shortly, with production starting in 2025. Up to 45 employees will produce preservatives for technical applications. According to information from Thursday, the total investment amounts to more than 20 million euros. According to the city administration of Schwerin, the immission control approval process is currently underway.
The environmental organization BUND is critical of the settlement. The chemical production facility is a so-called incident operation, and the first in Schwerin, said the BUND state manager Corinna Cwielag. “In the case of accidental operations, precautions must be taken for sudden accidents involving the escape of dangerous substances from humans and the environment.”
