Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The police arrested two people in Schwerin on Monday on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons. In a Schwerin allotment garden and in an apartment, among other things, weapons, chemicals, narcotics and a Reich war flag were seized, said the Schwerin public prosecutor and the Rostock police headquarters in a joint statement on Tuesday. Initial investigations against the 37-year-old owner of the arbor and apartment have therefore given evidence of a right-wing attitude. In addition, a 25-year-old homeless man was arrested in the allotment garden.
According to the announcement, the district court in Schwerin, at the request of the public prosecutor’s office, ordered the pre-trial detention for both men. It was also said that the criminal police in Schwerin were investigating, among other things, violations of the Weapons Act, the War Weapons Control Act, the Explosives Act and the Narcotics Act. It is also still unclear for what purpose the chemicals and weapons were purchased.
