Schwerin/Offenbach (dpa/mv) – The German Weather Service (DWD) also warns of high temperatures in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania over the course of the week. “On Tuesday, a strong heat load is expected, especially in the western interior. It will be even hotter on Wednesday,” said the DWD website on Monday. Under the influence of high pressure, hot air masses are increasingly coming to the north-east.
The weather service is currently warning of the heat in large parts of Germany, including in the western third of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. So far, Western Pomerania and the lake district have been less affected. This means that the regions in addition to northern Schleswig-Holstein, large parts of Bavaria and parts of Baden-Württemberg are exceptional.
The DWD is already expecting temperatures of 25 to 30 degrees for Monday, a little less on the coast with 24 to 27 degrees. With temperatures between 10 and 18 degrees, however, it should initially cool down below the 20 degree mark at night, from which there is talk of tropical nights.
