Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The Schwerin energy supplier Wemag has reacted to the announced end of the gas levy. “The announcement of the gas procurement levy in our customer letters has therefore become obsolete. The advance payments planned for Wemag customers will therefore also be suspended for the time being,” said the energy supplier’s sales manager, Michael Hillmann, on Friday. The October invoices to customers will therefore be redesigned. The federal government had announced the day before that it would waive a gas surcharge.
Nevertheless, the company called for careful use of energy. “All consumers are encouraged to save energy where possible.” Customers who reduce their consumption by ten percent below the previous year’s level should be paid a premium of 100 euros.
