Rostock (dpa / mv) – A 62-year-old Rostocker has become the victim of a fake police officer who cheated her out of her saved 100,000 euros. As the police announced on Thursday, the woman received a call from the fraudster around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. He explained that her son had been taken into police custody after a fatal traffic accident and would only be released on bail. Through a skillful conversation, the caller asked about the woman’s reserves and agreed to hand over the cash amount in the Rostock station district. After the money had been handed over, a messenger who had appeared for the handover fled on foot with the money. The police are now looking for witnesses.
