The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department and local law enforcement were advised last week which explosives were missing from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, situated about 150 kilometers east of Los Angeles, but their support wasn’t asked, spokeswoman Jodi Miller stated.
The quantity and type of explosives weren’t identified.
KGTV-TV of San Diego reported that 10 pounds of explosives — recognized as C-4 — vanished after being saved in the bottom in the southern Mojave Desert, mentioning a source with knowledge of this circumstance.
The C-4 was stated to have disappeared during a very long training exercise fourteen days before and might have been discharged, according to reports. A reward has been offered because of its safe yield, the San Diego channel reported.
“Out of respect for the investigative procedure, NCIS doesn’t comment on or confirm particulars regarding ongoing investigations,” Houston told Fox News in an email last Friday.
Marines from various units have been engaging in combat training exercises in the bottom since Jan. 15, KESQ-TV reported. The training is scheduled to finish on February 18.
