King Juan Carlos had little room to train this Friday. All the weather reports gave rain and wind starting at noon. Despite this, the father of Felipe VI has embarked on the Bribón at 11 in the morning, when he arrived at the Real Club Náutico with his friend Pedro Campos.

With much less expectation than on Thursday, Don Juan Carlos has been chatting on the deck of the Bribón with Alicia Freira, owner of the Titia, the main rival of Don Juan Carlos’s sailboat.

Minutes later, the King’s ship went out to sea. It was only an attempt, since it began to rain immediately and the ship of the Emeritus was forced to turn around. The father of Felipe VI has arrived at port around 12:00. He has gotten into Campos’ car and they have returned to the house, from where they do not plan to leave all day.

Don Juan Carlos thus fulfills his purpose of not giving more headlines so that he can return to Spain soon. Felipe VI’s father wants to return to training in June, when there is another race, as well as participate in the 6m Sailing World Championship on the Isle of Wight at the end of August. That is why he has decided to limit his public appearances upon his arrival and departure from the port, without even lowering the window so as not to give the option to headlines and statements.

Felipe VI’s father will participate tomorrow in the II Volvo Autesa Cup regatta, in which eight sailboats compete for the victory. There will be two days of regattas, until Sunday, in which the Emeritus King intends to lead the helm. At the end of the regattas, there will be no awards ceremony, so Don Juan Carlos will return to Campos’s house and will probably go to another city, although his fate is unknown.
