Five rescue operations were carried out by the Chamonix High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon, (PGHM), this Monday, June 6, around the Mont-Blanc massif.
First, the Tour glacier was used by rescuers to assist the injured leg that had fallen on a snowfield. She was taken to Sallanches hospital.
A man with a torn calf sustained at the Gouter refuge was also assisted by the gendarmes. He was taken to the Bois helicopter base.
Also, a man who was injured on the Tete Rousse glacier in his ankle was safely transported to the base.
Rescue professionals made their way to the Aiguille du Midi’s south face in the afternoon to help a climber who was suffering from rib and back trauma.
He was transported to Sallanches hospital, where another man who had fractured his femur while following the route that descends from the Albert 1er refuge were also taken.
