Two of the children whom their mother allegedly tried to kill on Thursday in the Navarre town of Fitero are in the ICU of the University Hospital of Navarra “serious but stable” and their sister on the ward, where she is evolving favorably. The mother supplied them with some toxic substance and wounded them with a knife.
Investigation sources have confirmed that the mother caused injuries that have caused the youngest and oldest, aged 3 and 9, to be in intensive care and the median, 5-year-old, less serious, hospitalized on the floor.
The minors are in the hospital in Pamplona, ??to where they were taken after being initially referred to the Reina Sofía Hospital in Tudela.
Next to them remains their father, who was working outside the town when the events occurred, around 12:00 on Thursday.
The mother, who tried to commit suicide, after spending a day in the hospital in the Ribera capital, was transferred this Friday to the University Hospital of Navarra, where she remains in police custody.
At the moment, as they have indicated, there is no forecast of when he will be discharged from hospital and therefore when he will go to court.
The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard continues with the investigation of the case, which has been taken over by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Tudela.
The events occurred in the house on Calle Mayor de Fitero where the family resides and who apparently had everything ready to go on vacation in the next few days to their country.
There, for reasons that have not been specified at the moment, the mother tried to kill her children, although the two oldest managed to get out and ask for help, which led the neighbors to alert the Civil Guard who, after entering the home with the two minors, found the woman with her third child.
In the town where the family has lived for several years, there have been signs of dismay and pain at what happened.
In the Plaza de San Raimundo de Fitero, a silent gathering of rejection and support for the family convened by the City Council took place this afternoon, which has lamented and condemned the events that, as it has recognized, have caused “deep consternation” throughout the town.
The Consistory also joins the pain of the Islamic community based in Fitero, with whose representatives they are in permanent contact and assures that it will do everything legally in its power to protect minors.
