Super Smash Bros. is a series that has been re-created many times but never beat. It’s not only a great game but also that Nintendo has an incredible collection of characters and games. Even if you have never played a Metroid, F-Zero, or Starfox game, these fighters will be familiar to you.
Smash loves to tell you that a new challenger approaches!
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was created by Fair Play Labs and Ludosity. It combines Nickelodeon characters with the Smash Bros. idea. It’s not hiding that it isn’t trying to hide it. The trailer shows how it knows its greatest strength lies in the large number of characters it has access to. The trailer features SpongeBob SquarePants and two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It also includes characters from Hey Arnold! (Invader Zim), Danny Phantom, The Loud House and Aaahhhh!!! Real Monsters, Rugrats and many more.
Fans are talking a lot about Garfield, the main character on Ludosity’s Discord. Nickelodeon has the rights so we might be whoping Leonardo into space using a lasagna tray.
The news is already making Smash Bros. players gaga, including HungryBox. I was unable to attend an event, and a dude ate my steak along with his own. He also posted a photo of his happy stomach to social media, and tagged me in.
According to the press release, there are 20 levels in the game. There are two modes available: single-player or multiplayer, the former offering online and local competition. It features rollback netcode, which has drawn a lot of attention online. This option is preferred by fighting game fans and basically is a predictive algorithm that predicts what players will do during connection drops. If it fails, it will ‘roll back the game’ to the previous connection and resume play.
This is also a nice spot.
Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl is not a new concept. It is the latest in a series called Nickelodeon Super Brawl games that started on the company’s website more than a decade ago. (Plus, there was Super Brawl Universe mobile, so yes, I have children which is why this is what I know).
The game will be released this fall. Although the trailer does not mention it for consoles, a Ludosity designer stated on Discord that this was an oversight and that PC is the main platform. We have asked the publisher for confirmation and will keep you updated.
