Hamminkeln (dpa/lnw) – Four people were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Hamminkeln on the Lower Rhine on Saturday evening. According to the police, a 19-year-old drove his vehicle into the oncoming lane for reasons that are still unclear and crashed into an oncoming car belonging to a 54-year-old. Both drivers and their respective passengers, aged 17 and 51, were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. The police estimated the property damage at 30,000 euros.
