Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – 220,600 people from Ukraine moved to North Rhine-Westphalia from January to November 2022. A third (33.7 percent) of the immigrants were children and young people under the age of 18. According to the State Statistical Office on Friday, only 1700 immigrants from Ukraine to NRW were counted in the whole of 2021.
Since March 2022, however, the number of people moving from NRW to Ukraine has also increased: from January to November 2022, 22,300 people moved from NRW to Ukraine. Overall, however, in the first eleven months of 2022, 198,300 more people moved from Ukraine to NRW than left the country. The anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine was on Friday.
