Saerbeck (dpa / lnw) – A 26-year-old is said to have killed his 25-year-old neighbor in Saerbeck (Steinfurt district). The woman’s body was discovered in a bush on Tuesday morning, police and prosecutors said. The man was arrested and admitted to the crime during interrogation. A homicide detective is investigating.

“The 25-year-old woman is said to have rejected the 26-year-old’s relationship intentions,” said Heiner Olthuis from the Münster police, according to the announcement. The woman had been missing since early Sunday morning. Police officers questioned the woman’s friends and neighbors and finally came across the 26-year-old, who got caught up in contradictions. He said he killed the woman and hid the body in the bushes in Saerbeck.

Investigators initially gave no information on how the woman was killed. The body is now to be autopsied. The suspect will appear before a magistrate on Tuesday or Wednesday.
