Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – A 26-year-old was apparently shot and critically injured in a family dispute in Düsseldorf. The 51-year-old father of his girlfriend was arrested near the scene of the crime, police and prosecutors said on Wednesday. A homicide commission took up the investigation.
According to the current status of the investigation, the shot was fired in a scuffle when a family dispute escalated between the two men. Local residents heard the bang on Wednesday morning and alerted the police.
The first officers to arrive then discovered the 26-year-old man with the gunshot wound lying in his apartment and provided first aid. The alleged murder weapon was found in the apartment. It should now be clarified who owns it and whether it was legally owned. The 26-year-old was taken to a hospital.
