Hanover/Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – For 45 people in North Rhine-Westphalia, the dream of winning millions in the lottery came true last year. This is the result of a balance sheet by the German Lotto and Totoblocks (DLTB), which was presented in Hanover on Wednesday. It said there were 187 lottery millionaires nationwide last year. Most of the “new millionaires” – 45 in number – were in NRW. However, NRW is also the federal state with the most inhabitants.

If you look at the amount of the individual wins, one hit in particular stood out. In May 2022, a win of more than 110 million euros in the Eurojackpot went to NRW.
