Krefeld (dpa / lnw) – 50 people were temporarily evacuated from a residential building complex in the Linn district of Krefeld on Saturday evening. Several cars burned in the shared underground car park, as the fire brigade announced on Sunday night. So nobody was injured. However, the smoke was able to spread to several stairwells, as the garage is connected to five apartment buildings. In addition, toxic fire gases penetrated through open windows into the apartments above. The emergency services evacuated the residents for the duration of the extinguishing work. It is not yet clear how the car caught fire.
