Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The number of weddings in North Rhine-Westphalia in February of this year was a good 70 percent higher than in the previous year. 4412 couples said yes, in February 2021 there were 2585, as the State Statistical Office IT.NRW announced on Wednesday. The strong increase is probably due to catch-up effects due to the corona pandemic, said an IT-NRW spokeswoman. The most popular wedding month in NRW is August with almost 9800 weddings in 2021.
