Cologne (dpa / lnw) – In the case of an alleged abuser in Cologne, officials search the suspect’s apartment again. “We are looking for further evidence,” said a spokeswoman for the Cologne public prosecutor’s office on Wednesday. At least three days are scheduled for the action that started on Tuesday in the Zollstock district, so she cannot yet say anything about possible results. Several media had previously reported.
The 33-year-old man has been in custody since the beginning of June on suspicion of serious sexual abuse of children. According to the arrest warrant, he is said to have abused at least four children, but investigators are now assuming a higher number. He had found his victims by offering to babysit on the Internet.
He had also worked as a part-time caregiver in three Cologne day-care centers. So far, there has been one case of abuse of a child.
