Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – After the car accident on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee on Tuesday evening, none of the injured are in mortal danger. A police spokesman said on Wednesday. The police are investigating on suspicion of negligent bodily harm. A total of six people were injured, two of them seriously.
On the shopping mile, an 84-year-old driver lost control of his SUV and drove into a group of people. The accident happened on the side of the Kö with shops and near the Christmas market. The police quickly ruled out an intentional act. The car involved in the accident also crashed into several other cars.
From the crowd, two people were seriously injured and were initially in mortal danger. Another person from the pedestrian group, the driver of a vehicle damaged by the accident car and the 84-year-old driver and his companion were slightly injured. The Düsseldorf fire brigade was on site with 45 emergency services.
