Issum (dpa / lnw) – Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in Issum on the Lower Rhine on Christmas Eve – but made no loot. As the police in the Kleve district reported, witnesses heard an explosion in the bank branch, which is located in a residential and commercial building, early on Saturday morning. The front room of the bank was badly damaged. The apartments above the branch were not affected.
According to witnesses, three men fled the scene in a car. The ATM had been emptied by bank employees before the holidays. A notice to this effect even hung on the front door. The criminal police took up investigations, the forensics were on site.
