Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Although he was wanted in Germany for attempted manslaughter, a 56-year-old flew from Turkey to Düsseldorf. The federal police said on Thursday that the man from Gronau in Münsterland was still handcuffed at the airport on Wednesday evening.
The public prosecutor’s office in Frankfurt/Main had put the Germans out for a manhunt. The crime he is said to have committed happened in Bad Vilbel, Hesse, at the end of last year. The pre-trial arrest warrant was issued last March.
The 56-year-old was very surprised: he did not know that he was wanted. The man was brought before a magistrate on Thursday.
