It is said to have been an act of revenge: a 53-year-old is said to have shot a driver because the man was involved in his dismissal. A verdict is expected at the district court in Mönchengladbach.

Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) – The trial of an attempted murder after a termination should end on Thursday at the Mönchengladbach district court. An accused 53-year-old from Hückelhoven in the Heinsberg district is said to have shot at a moving car in the town in February. According to the indictment, he wanted to take revenge on the driver of the car for being involved in his termination.

A 32-year-old man from a neighboring town is also accused. In the process, he confessed to having procured the gun together with his older friend and colleague. Then he drove the 53-year-old to the crime scene.

The main defendant had just been fired for sexual harassment at work. He has denied any involvement in the crime. If convicted, the 53-year-old faces several years in prison.
