Meckenheim (dpa / lnw) – While fleeing the police, two people drove their car into a house entrance in Meckenheim (Rhein-Sieg district). The 22-year-old driver and his 17-year-old passenger fled from a traffic check in Rhineland-Palatinate on Tuesday night, a spokesman for the Bonn police said. The police officers pursued the car, but stopped the chase shortly before Meckenheim.

The car went off the road on a left-hand bend and hit a front door. The passenger sustained minor injuries in the collision. The 22-year-old driver tried to flee on foot, but fell and was also slightly injured. He was stopped by the police officers.

The reason for the escape was probably the driver’s missing driver’s license, as the spokesman further announced. The entrance to the house was completely destroyed in the incident. The “General-Anzeiger” had previously reported.
