Blankenheim (dpa / lnw) – A 28-year-old drove his car near Blankenheim (Euskirchen district) on a rain-soaked roadway into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The 28-year-old and the 54-year-old driver of the second vehicle were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries, the police said on Sunday morning. According to the information, the 28-year-old drove too fast into a curve and thus got into oncoming traffic. According to the police, both vehicles were totaled, and 25 meters of guardrail were damaged. The amount of damage is in the middle five-digit range.
