Hamm (dpa / lnw) – An apparently mentally ill man pointed a deceptively real-looking alarm gun at residents and police officers in Hamm. The officers could have fired a warning shot and then overpowered him, police said.
The 31-year-old was caught on Tuesday morning trying to enter a private home through an open patio door. When the alarmed police arrived, the man drew his deceptively real-looking gun, threatened the residents and eventually the officials. Then he fled. After a police officer fired a warning shot in the air, the 31-year-old was overwhelmed and arrested. He went to psychiatry.
