Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Three men working at Düsseldorf Airport attracted attention with a gesture that is typical of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS). The “Bild” newspaper reported on Friday about the incident. A photo on social media shows three men in overalls standing on the runway and symbolically pointing their index fingers upwards. According to the report, the ID cards were blocked so that the men no longer have access to security areas at the airport.

A spokesman for the Düsseldorf police said on Friday morning that they drove to the men’s addresses on Thursday. A threat speech was given to two of them, the third was on vacation. “We’ll continue to focus on him – when he’s back, we’ll also talk to him about danger.”

The police use dangerous speeches when they receive indications of a possible criminal offense. She makes representations to extremists and hooligans, for example. The officials want to use this to signal that the person is on screen and that they should not put any thoughts they may have into practice. Addressing a dangerous person is therefore a preventive measure to prevent a possible later criminal offence.
