Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Five employees of the state government have been working for the CDU since 2017. This emerges from the answer to a small request from the SPD in the state parliament, which the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” first reported on at the weekend. The opposition is now asking again: They want to know how many of the five also worked for the CDU in the last election campaign.
It is already known that a part-time employee of the State Chancellery supported the social media activities of CDU top candidate Hendrik Wüst (CDU) during the election campaign. The State Chancellery had defended this as legitimate.
The government’s response to the SPD request does not reveal when the five employees – including two civil servants – worked for the CDU between 2017 and 2022. It is also not said whether the persons concerned came from the state chancellery or a ministry – for data protection reasons, the paper says.
According to dpa information, SPD MP Nadja Lüders is now following up with a new request: She wants to know again where the five came from, what they did for the CDU and when, and whether there were any conflicts with their actual jobs in the government .
